Wix announced the launch of an extended ecommerce solution. The new solution provides online merchants features like customizable branded storefronts, multi-channel sales, dropshipping, native payment processing, and analytics and report creation.
The solution can also be extended with Ascend, Wix’s CRM and marketing product software, and Corvid, the company’s own web development platform.
‘Online shopping has entered a stage of hyper growth’
According to CEO Avishai Abrahami, online shopping has entered a stage of hyper growth. “Businesses need the resources to meet this increasing demand. From selling products or services and getting paid online, to managing finances, fulfillment, sales channels and more, our new ecommerce functionalities are designed to help our customers sell anything, anywhere.”
Lots of new features
The new solution offers several features, including online store with customizable branded storefront, cart and checkout, access to thousands of products and dropshipping with Modalyst, multi-language site and in-cart multi-currency convertor, product subscriptions for recurring revenue from product sales, automated sales tax calculations with Avalara and integrated sales channels including social media and marketplaces.
Wix once started as a free service to make a website online, but soon it became a serious ecommerce SaaS provider. Recently it invested heavily in extending its ecommerce capabilities, including the acquisition of Inkfrog in June. This is a web design company that provides customized business management software for eBay sellers. Wix also added more partner apps in the Wix App Market, including Modalyst, Printful, Printify, Shippo, ShipBob, KudoBuzz, Smile.io and AdScale.
