Checkout Charlie, a German company with many consumer and discount portals, is expanding in Europe again. The business, part of A company of the Media Group RTL Germany, has launched two new voucher portals: Buonisconto.it in Italy and Topdescuento.es in Spain.
The two websites are focused on vouchers, discounts, and native advertising. Together with these two new ecommerce websites, the Berlin-based Checkout Charlie now operates 14 websites in six different countries across Europe.
“The internationalization towards Spain and Italy was the next logical step. Both countries have growing ecommerce markets that offer great potential,” said Martin Riess, Managing Director Checkout Charlie.

‘Italy and Spain both offer great conditions’
According to the company, which was known as Sparwelt up until the first of this month, Italy and Spain both offer great conditions for the new portals. “Italy has the fourth-largest voucher market in Europe after the United Kingdom, Germany, and France. And although ecommerce in Spain is still relatively undeveloped compared to other European markets, the voucher and cashback market has been growing steadily since 2018. So, the new portal topdescuentos.es should be the answer to the growing demand”, Checkout Charlie explains.

21% of top Italian retailers active with couponing
A study by Osservatori.net in 2018 also shows that in Italy, 21 percent of the top retailers are already active in the area of couponing, while another 33 percent want to invest in affiliate marketing in the future.
200 online shops integrated on both portals
On both Buonisconto.it and Topdescuento.es, connected online retailers have their own websites, which list the latest vouchers and offers, as well as relevant information on the redemption conditions and the company’s contact details. So far, 200 online shops have been integrated on both portals and over 100 advertisers have entered into a cooperation.
